journey of my original heart shadow light music
Music balances the intellectual with heart. Enjoy.

I love the metaphor of this song.
Midnight for dark times.
Midnight for our shadow, an important part of who we are that we sometimes try to ignore.
Midnight as in “midnight crew” from Lord Byron’s poem, I Would I Were a Careless Child. The midnight crew are the folks walking the craggy shadow cliffs rather than exchanging banal pleasantries around the punch bowl.
Midnight as in 12:00 on the Atomic Scientists’ Doomsday Clock (according to them and “Limits to Growth” scientists and many others, we are close to global catastrophe).
Dandelions are considered weeds. In permaculture, we’d call them “pioneer species” – plants that come in where needed to heal the soil and prepare it for the next succession. In this case, dandelions work well to loosen up overly compacted soil. How sad – and damaging — that our culture tends to treat healers like the dandelion like something to be eliminated. So, midnight dandelions are my crew – people who can operate in the dark times, grow in tough soil to prepare it for something better, pop up a beautiful flower, provide a nutritious (though bitter) supplement to a meal, and spread their ideas and influence on the wind.
Kindness for a Change is my effort to train and bring the midnight crew together while healing our politics and planet.
