Just me, my mood, my mistakes, and a piano
Saturday I hit record on my iphone and started playing our upright, an old piano we adopted from a neighbor about 20 years ago–the tuning’s a bit off, the bench squeaks, and the notes echo off the walls. This piece isn’t a song. It’s just made up as I went along…and you can tell. So, if you want to be in the room with me while a melody flows from my mood and finds itself key by key, creak by creak, where mistakes become inspiration for the next note, press play and listen in.
If you’re interested in contrasting this with an opposite approach — some of the most polished music I’ve tried to produce — join the musical journey below.
